Global Alliance Gives Hope for Progressive MS

More than 2.3 million people worldwide currently live with MS. More than half, over 1 million people, live with a progressive form of MS. Progressive MS lacks a single, identifiable disease pattern. As a result, researchers lack the knowledge needed to focus and accelerate progress. And they lack tools to test how and why MS progresses, and too few new treatments are tested as a result of slow and costly trials. People with progressive MS need solutions now. Progressive MS Alliance Video

The National MS Society is the best investment for MS research because we are looking at all of the most promising research internationally. This includes our support of and participation in the International Progressive MS Alliance, the first global alliance of its kind. The Alliance just announced its first round of funding, to 22 research projects in 9 countries.
