A Month to Thank and Support Family Caregivers

OKE 2014 National Family Caregivers Month CardThe National MS Society supports the National Family Caregivers Association (NFCA) in their efforts to recognize family caregivers through our endorsement and recognition of November as National Family Caregivers Month. This is a nationally recognized time set aside every year to thank, support, educate and celebrate more than 61 million family caregivers across the country!

TAKE PART IN A SPOUSAL CAREGIVERS RESEARCH SURVEY
Researchers with the Walden University are interested in understanding how chronic illness affects the caregiver with regard to psychological resilience, personal growth, satisfaction of life and martial satisfaction. This study is attempting to investigate how long-term caregivers cope with and adjust to the demands of caring for a spouse with a diagnosis of MS. Finding answers to the question of how caregivers cope and adjust to this situation will help us identify ways to improve the quality of life of both the person with MS and their primary caregivers. >>Learn more

State Action Day (formerly known as the Public Policy Conference) is an exciting opportunity for you to learn more about MS advocacy. HELP BRING WELLNESS OPPORTUNITIES TO YOUR MS COMMUNITY
Research shows us how important exercise is to achieving wellness in the presence of MS, but not everyone has access to wellness programming that meets the needs of individuals living with MS. That is why we are looking for Volunteer Wellness Partnership Cultivators, to help identify and create new wellness opportunities by connecting to community wellness instructors and/or community wellness programs. If you have a passion for wellness, or see a need for new programming in your community, contact us today to learn how you can be part of the solution.
